Robert Slovak, a degreed Mechanical and Astronautical Engineer, has over 30 years of experience in the water treatment industry, specializing in membrane separation technology and products. His career included a “significant contribution” to the POU (Point-of-Use) and commercial/institutional RO (Reverse Osmosis) industry, especially in the area of system design, application knowledge, and technical training.
Robert and his brother Jack co-founded Water Factory Systems in the early 1970’s. After gaining valuable research and field experience, they joined forces with Doug Horn of Pro Water Systems. The combination rapidly became one of the industry leaders in POU and commercial RO water treatment. As the field was so new, Robert was required to contribute in areas of research, engineering, product development, manufacturing, installation, marketing and sales.
Water factory Systems was purchased by the publicly traded Commercial Intertech/CUNO Group in 1989.
It subsequently became solely part of CUNO Incorporated, a global leader in fluid purification, which was spun-off as an independent, publicly traded company in 1996.
CUNO Incorporated has recently been acquired by the 3-M Group and the Water Factory Systems division was an integral part of this acquisition.
Of his contributions to the water treatment industry, Robert is perhaps best known for his articles, technical writing, and training seminars, through private industry and numerous Water Quality Association functions. Today, Robert lives in the Lake Tahoe area of Nevada where he does international consulting and specialized water treatment projects on a limited basis, leaving enough time for other more adventurous activities of the mind, body and spirit.
Robert is the Principle Officer of NEXT™ Filtration Technologies, Inc. whose products include: NextRO®; NextScaleStop®, and NextSand®, all of which are State-of-the-Art technologies all of which are incorporated into products sold by H2O Profesionales Internacionales, S.A. de C.V.
